The course is for those who have mastered the practical skills and absorbed the knowledge required for Start Sailing. The course looks at sailing techniques and manoeuvres as well as multihull capsize recovery conducted in a controlled manner.

The course builds on sailing abilities to the standard of RYA Start Sailing and aims to provide candidates with a wide range of skills in keelboat sailing. Course content includes rigging, launching and sailing in all directions.

This course is a part of the RYA National Sailing Scheme and is suitable for participants over the age of 16. It is comprised of a series of two day courses enabling candidates to progress quickly from being a beginner in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment. 

During this Basic Skills course, candidates will expand their existing knowledge of multihull sailing. On completion of the course, participants are expected to be armed with the skills required to sail and make decisions in good conditions.

· Sailing in all directions
· Capsize recovery
· Essential safety knowledge

Candidates will receive the RYA Basic Skills - Multi Hull Certificate upon successful completion of the course
