RYA Dinghy Instructor
Dinghy instructors are competent, experienced sailors and this course will provide candidates with a certification to teach adults and children, beginners and improvers. The course comprises of four days of training and one day of moderation.
As a dinghy instructor, candidates must be capable of sailing a training boat in strong winds and handling small powerboats. Candidates must be assessed as competent to teach adults and children, beginners and improvers.
Course detailThe four day training course will educate candidates on teaching techniques afloat and ashore and will be delivered by RYA coach assessors.
Moderation will usually take place on the final day of the course and candidates will be required to demonstrate competence in course preparation, delivery and management, as well as customer liaison.
Pre-requisites
Minimum age 16
Powerboat level 2 Coastal Certificate
Current RYA recognised First Aid certificate
Successfully completed a pre entry assessment within 1 year of the Dinghy Instructor Course
RYA Membership
Completed RYA Safe and Fun Safeguarding course
