This five day RYA instructor course is for any experienced dinghy sailor looking to become certified to teach the RYA National Sailing Scheme and RYA Youth Sailing Scheme. The course comprises of four days of training and one day of moderation.

Current RYA Recognised First Aid certificate

Course detail

The four day training course will educate candidates on teaching techniques afloat and ashore, and will be delivered by RYA coach assessors.

The moderation will usually take place on the final day of the course and candidates will be required to demonstrate competence in course preparation, delivery and management, as well as customer liason.

Practical sessions (double and single handed boats)
Theory Sessions
Land drills
Qualities of an Instructor
The RYA method
10 minute presentations
Day trips
Asymmetric's / trapezing boats
Seamanship

Course Outcomes

Successful candidates will receive the RYA Dinghy Instructor Certificate and will be qualified to teach adults and children, beginners and improvers.
