It is a two day course that will cover many aspects of sailing a dinghy. It is a practical, hands-on course with elements of theory that will equip individuals with all they need to get started with the activity.

Candidates can expect to learn many aspects of sailing required to be able to sail confidently under supervision in light winds. The course will cover how to sail in different directions, as well as gain an awareness of launching and recovering.

This course is a part of the RYA National Sailing Scheme. It is comprised of a series of two day courses enabling candidates to progress quickly from a beginner to experts in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment.

During the Start Sailing course, candidates will cover the key aspects of sailing to give an all- round understanding of the skills needed to get started with dinghy sailing. On completion of the course, participants are expected to be able to sail in light winds under supervision. 

Course content will include:

· How to sail in different directions
· Awareness of launching and recovering

Candidates will receive the RYA Start Sailing Certificate upon successful completion of the course.
