Course detail

This Level 2 Powerboat course is a part of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) National Powerboat Scheme and is ideal for those using small powered craft such as Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) and sports boats. It is also suited to the professional small boat skipper who is required to prove their competence or provide certification for work. The course is delivered on the coastal waters of the River Blackwater Estuary and will cover many aspects of powerboating.

Course outcomes

On completion, candidates are expected to be confident in handling powerboats unsupervised in the right conditions and aware of their own limitations, as well as those of their craft. Candidates will receive the RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate. Those aged 12 to 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate. All certificates are registered online with the RYA and require a passport sized photo to be provided.
