First Aid at Work - Re-qualification

The First Aid at Work Re-qualification course is a two day programme that is designed to refresh and requalify first aiders that hold a current First Aid at Work qualification.

The First Aid at Work course prepares individuals with the essential knowledge to be able to deal with first aid situations at work, while confidently fulfilling the role of workplace first aid representative.  The re-qualification course will recap on existing knowledge as well and updating you on the most current first aid developments.

The course is recommended for anyone who has a current First Aid at Work certificate who would like to continue their role as a first aider.

Nationally recognised and OFQUAL regulated, this is a hands on course that takes a theoretical and practical approach to learning first aid in a variety of scenarios.

YOU MUST HOLD AND PRESENT A CURRENT, IN DATE FIRST AID AT WORK CERTIFICATE TO ATTEND THIS COURSE

Course detail

This is a practical, hands-on course that underpins theory and will provide candidates with the knowledge needed to confidently carry out first aid at work and fulfil the role of workplace first aid representative.

The course is made up of practical assessments that will be carried out informally over two days, including multiple choice written papers. A course book and handouts will be supplied to each candidate.

Course content will include:

· The role of the first aider
· Incident and casualty assessment
· Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
· Care of the unconscious casualty, management of seizures, choking, external bleeding and shock
· Minor injuries such as burns, scalds, splinters, bruises and grazes
· Respiratory system, hypoxia, chest injuries
· Asthma and hyperventilation
· Circulatory system
· Specific wounds and bleeding
· Eye injuries
· Anaphylaxis
· Angina, heart attacks, stroke
· Serious burns and scalds
· Poisons
· Skeletal system
· Fractures and dislocations
· Sprains and strains
· Spinal injuries and head injuries
· Diabetes
· Epilepsy

On completion of the course, candidates will receive the Qualsafe accredited first aid certificate.

You need to bring Your current, in date, First Aid at Work Certificate (You will not be able to complete this course without producing this certificate)
